The creation of childhood friends Sarah Whitehead and Sonia Stray Cygnus Events is a boutique event management agency aimed at providing professional and bespoke event management perfection.
One of the keys to planning a successful event, we believe, is the people. Cygnus Events is about Sarah and Sonia who have been delivering outstanding events together for nearly 10 years.

SARAH WHITEHEAD | DIRECTOR
Sarah started her hospitality career, working in a 5-star Parisian hotel at the age of 21. As part of her apprenticeship, she worked her way from Room Service to Reception via Housekeeping and Banqueting, but it was Conference and Banqueting that appealed to her the most.

Out of university, she landed her first job at an event management agency in London and never looked back.

Nearly thirty years later, Sarah has worked on hundreds of events across the world. She has gained a myriad of experiences working on conferences, exhibitions, meetings, awards ceremonies and more, from the US to Brazil, from Montenegro to Vietnam via Manchester, Cardiff and London, each time gaining more insight into what makes a successful event.

Sarah believes that a calm demeanour and sense of humour will go a long way to making clients feel assured their event is in good hands, allowing them the freedom to concentrate on producing the highest quality events.
SONIA STRAY | DIRECTOR
Sonia started her career in events 9 years ago bringing with her 16 years of experience in Operations from the Management Training and Consultancy industry. Events suited Sonia’s skill set, managing projects and budgets were second nature, but more importantly, her infectious energy and enthusiasm have been put to great use.

Sonia ensures that every client, delegate, exhibitor, speaker and supplier receives a first-class experience and any challenges, that inevitably arise, are resolved with professionalism, creativity and a smile. She has put her energy to great use working on events globally with clients from a range of industries.

Collaboration is key to Sonia, a professional and personable approach to delivering event solutions and creating lasting relationships with clients is what matters.
